Total Points – A cumulative figure that only increases over time, used for certificates, badges, and long-term recognition.
Reward Shop Points – A spendable balance that decreases as students make purchases in the reward shop.
Current Limitation:
ePraise currently supports a single points balance, which means schools cannot independently manage these two point values. This creates challenges for schools migrating from other MIS systems or those with reward structures requiring separate balances.
Requested Enhancement:
-
Enable schools to import and update two separate point fields for each student:
Total Points (non-deductible, cumulative)
Reward Shop Points (deductible, spendable)
Support CSV imports with separate columns for each tally (e.g., Student ID | Total Points | Reward Shop Points).
Provide UI and API functionality for managing these fields independently.
Why This Matters:
Many schools want to maintain historical achievement totals while allowing students to spend points without affecting their cumulative record.
This flexibility is essential for schools migrating from other systems and for those with complex reward programs.
Impact:
Reduces manual work and errors during migration.
Improves alignment with diverse school reward policies.
Enhances ePraise’s adaptability and appeal for new schools.
Hi there! You can upload points for a specific date, but since points to spend is just a total and does not exist independently this request isn’t feasible right now.
If you upload points based on a date in the past you may be able to achieve the same effect though, by uploading for a date between spend points from and show data from (thus only affecting the points to spend).
